You want to turn over a new leaf; maybe you have a grandbaby on the way, and you want to be the hip fit grandparent, or you received a not so great report from the Doctor and have been told to change your diet, or you are just tired of being tired. So off to the health food store you go.
In the door you walk, it smells clean and fresh, it may smell of herbs or oils, and there are rows and rows of bottles, canisters, juices, and even probiotics in the cold section. As u wander around you, see Magnesium, you have heard we are all low in Magnesium, but you see three different kinds. Which one should you get? Then you turn to Dr. Google, and you find out there are 11 kinds of Magnesium. Well, now what??!! You don’t have time to read about all 11, so you grab the one you have heard of the most. After all, what little you had time to read said, “Magnesium is one of the critical nutrients needed to stay healthy. This mineral is an important cofactor for hundreds of processes and reactions in the body, including energy. It is important in sugar breakdown and uses blood pressure regulation and muscle and nerve function, including the function of the heart muscle. There is even evidence that magnesium improves the symptoms associated with depression. It may even help you get better sleep.” (1) And you would love to have more sleep and more energy.
That night you take two tablets instead of 1, more is better right, and we are all low, and you have been having some issues with your blood pressure and blood sugars lately, so why not. In a few hours, your stomach is upset; you don’t even feel like eating, and you love to eat. Later a rapid trip to the bathroom, and you didn’t even think you needed to pee, but liquid is all that came out. So here goes yet another supplement to collect dust and collect money from you, and you are even more tired today from rushing to the bathroom all night.
Here is where Functional Evaluation and nutritional therapy can help prevent all of the negative results and leave you feeling energetic, increase stamina, and give you a youthful glow.
It doesn’t matter have a wonderful supplement or food is for health; if you can’t digest it properly, it becomes a toxin to your body. How often have you taken a supplement or eaten food and gotten heartburn or upset stomach?
A Functional Evaluation can tell me what foods or supplements YOUR body needs and I can test you at that moment, and YOUR BODY will TELL me if you need it or not. In most cases, it only takes about 15 seconds or sometimes a little more.
You never need to guess what food or supplement is good for you. Let’s get in touch with your body and tap into your body’s healing wisdom.
